Slides in Explain Everything are there to help you divide your project into parts or chapters. Every one of them has an infinite canvas and is independent from the others.
Slide basics
- Each slide is a separate infinite canvas.
- You can use slides as chapters or parts of your recording.
- You can create a separate recording for each slide as they have independent Timelines.
- When you share your project as a video, recordings from all slides will be stitched together consecutively.
Add a new slide
- Select Add New Slide in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
- A new slide will be added after the active one.
- Select Add New Slide in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
- Choose a template for the new slide.
- A new slide with the chosen template will be added after the active one.
- Select Add New Slide in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
- A new slide will be added after the active one.
Delete slides
- Select the Slide Sorter from the control bar.
- To open slide editing options, select Edit.
- Select the slide (or slides) you'd like to remove.
- To remove the slides, select Delete.
- Confirm by selecting Remove item(s).
- Select the Slide Sorter from the control bar.
- To open slide editing options, select Edit.
- Select the slide (or slides) you'd like to remove.
- To remove the slides, select Delete.
- Confirm by selecting Remove item(s).
- Select the Slide Sorter from the control bar.
- To open slide editing options, select Edit.
- Select the slide (or slides) you'd like to remove.
- To remove the slides, select Delete.
- Confirm by selecting Remove item(s).
Change the order of slides
- Select the Slide Sorter from the control bar.
- Touch and hold on a slide that you'd like to move.
- Once it goes up, you'll be able change its position.
- Release the slide to confirm the new order.
- Select the Slide Sorter from the control bar.
- Select and hold on a slide that you'd like to move.
- Once it goes up, you'll be able change its position.
- Release the slide to confirm the new order.
- Select the Slide Sorter from the control bar.
- Select Edit.
- Hover the cursor on the ↔ left-right arrow icon.
- Click and hold on it to move a slide left or right.
- Select Done to confirm the new order.
Duplicate slides
- Select the Slide Sorter from the control bar.
- To open slide editing options, select Edit.
- Select the slide (or slides) you'd like to duplicate.
- To duplicate the slide, select Duplicate.
- If the slide you're trying to duplicate has a recording, you'll be able to choose wheter you'd like to duplicate the slide with or without it.
- Duplicate of the selected slide will be added after it.
- Select the Slide Sorter from the control bar.
- To open slide editing options, select Edit.
- Select the slide (or slides) you'd like to duplicate.
- To duplicate the slide, select Duplicate.
- If the slide you're trying to duplicate has a recording, you'll be able to choose whether you'd like to duplicate the slide with or without it.
- Duplicate of the selected slide will be added after it.
- Select the Slide Sorter from the control bar.
- To open slide editing options, select Edit.
- Select the slide (or slides) you'd like to duplicate.
- To duplicate the slide, select Duplicate.
- If the slide you're trying to duplicate has a recording, the new copy will not include it.
- The duplicate of the selected slide will be added after it.
Change the background color for a single slide
- Select the Slide Sorter from the control bar.
- Select the slide you'd like to change the background for.
- To open the background editor, select the Palette button.
- Here you can select a Pattern style on the left, switch between picking a color for the Pattern and the Background at the top, and select a color with one of the Palettes on the right.
- For precise color selection, choose the HEX Color Pallete under the # icon, enter the desired color value, and select Done.
- Choose ✔ Done in the upper right-hand corner to apply the background style to the selected slide.
- Select the Slide Sorter from the control bar.
- Select the slide you'd like to change the background for.
- To open the background editor, select the Palette button.
- Here you can choose one of the palettes on the right and drag the colors to the bottom to pick a color.
- Select Done in the upper right-hand corner to apply the background style to selected slide.

Change the background color for multiple slides
- Select the Slide Sorter from the control bar.
- To open slide editing options, select Edit.
- Select slides you'd like to change the background for.
- Choose the Palette button.

Create a custom background from an image

- Select the Hand Tool and scale the image as you need (it may cover the whole screen or the recording frame).
- You can double-tap the image to straighten it out.
- From the Toolbar, select the Inspector.
- Tap the image once to select it.
- Head to the Edit tab of the Inspector.
- Select Set as Background to to set the image as the background.
- Add an image to the slide.
- Select the Hand Tool and scale the image as you need (it may cover the whole screen or the recording frame).
- You can select the image twice to straighten it out.
- From the Toolbar, select the Inspector.
- Select the image once to edit it.
- Head to the Edit tab of the Inspector.
- Select Set as Background to to set the image as the background.

- Select the Hand Tool and scale the image as you need (it may cover the whole screen or the recording frame).
- You can select the image twice to straighten it out.
- From the Toolbar, select the Inspector.

Tip You can also set any other object or groups of objects as a background.
